Birthdays alone aren’t always easy. Today was my birthday. My husband who is always wonderful about celebrating my day, was and still is somewhere in Afghanistan. I’m so sad and I miss him. I wanted to spend the day with my family and friends. However, most everyone was busy.
My exchange student wanted to spend time with her friend because she wanted to go back home. I felt bad for this girl. I know far better than most about being separated from someone you not only love but, that you are going to spend the rest of your life with. Therefore a relationship of three months is a laughing matter to us military wives. Helene wanted to go to see her so, I said ok. We took her to Target, and she talked with us. She didn’t miss her family or her school, just her boyfriend. She made that very clear to both of us. I understand Helene wanting to make her friend feel better, I just wish she could have spent my birthday with me.
It’s been a rough birthday without my husband. I wish he were here. My host daughter made me a Norwegian Brownie Cake for my birthday.

Thank God for my fellow military wives support during this time and my wonderful friends. Happy Birthday to me.
Part of the reason I’m so honored to be a Brawny’s Towel Ambassador is their support of military families. They support the Wounded Warrior Project. Rock on to all of you and thank you for the strength that I hope to possess a third of one day. You’re all heroes in my book. Thank you for my freedom and that of my family’s. A special shout out to my soldier. I appreciate all that you do.
