Sophie the Giraffe is still completely safe. Recent rumors have been attacking my lovely Sophie la Girafeand I’m none to happy about it for various reasons. I wanted to address the rumors and concerns of parents and fans of Sophie the Giraffe. First and foremost, Calisson, Inc. is the EXCLUSIVE distributor in the United States of America for Sophie la Girafe. That means there are no other DISTRIBUTORS in our country and henceforth cannot be any confusion about where Sophie la Girafe is coming from if purchased at a local boutique or department store.

I’m as proud as Calisson, Inc. is to say that Sophie is one of the most popular teething toys on the market today. Sophie has been manufactured and distributed by Vulli in France for well over 50 years with the highest safety standards for children. Contrary to internet rumors and bad information being put out by bloggers that I feel are seeking attention, there has never been a recall of Sophie la Girafe aka Sophie the Giraffe in the United States of America, Canada or Europe (including Germany). A recall in the US can only be conducted through the Federal Consumer Protection Safety Committee (CPSC), and again no such recall exist. Please rest assured that Sophie the Giraffe still meets and exceeds all US and European safety standards for its intended use. Do you know that although Sophie the Giraffe is not a pacifier it passes the standards for a pacifier too! It’s a teether and because of that doesn’t have to pass the safety standards for a pacifier but, Vulli cares about babies so much that it goes above and beyond to assure all babies safety regardless of the country of origin of their birth.
Vulli has so many requests year after year, that this year they’re releasing new products. Not just any new products, but friends of my beloved giraffe. What’s this mean for me? I’ve got more animals to handle. I’m going to be a busy FaVe Mom with Josephine the Mouse, Kiwi the Bird, Margot the Turtle, Gabin the Bear & Lazare the Cat!!! Oh and I can’t share with you just yet, but we’ve got another animal that’s as cute as a boy “Bambi” coming out later this fall. :) Stay tuned here because I will be sharing more details as they become available.

As always, check your facts and information before posting things that cause parents to worry. Remember that if it is a Sophie la girafe question, you can always ask me, FaVe Mom, and I’ll be happy to find out for you. I find it odd that Vulli once created balloons that spied on Germany during the war and now Germans are badmouthing a famous French toy. Don’t hate on my sweet giraffe because she’s been in the New York Times and US Weekly. That’s not her fault, it’s mine. It almost feels like corporate espionage.
Last but not least, Sophie la girafe is not silicone based rubber! It’s natural rubber with edible VEGETABLE food paint. Two completely natural, completely pure, completely safe, original, organic, simply pure and perfect products to soothe your babies gums while teething. Rest assured your children are safe with Sophie. Do you honestly think that all of my children, nieces, nephews and godchildren would be allowed to have Sophie if she weren’t safe?
